Project Overview

Scrutineers seeks an experienced social media professional to assist our Media Team with building our online presence, increasing our followers and engagement, and researching/implementing the latest in social media data analytics to expand our reach. This person will report directly to the Volunteer Coordinator. This is a 100% volunteer position that will involve a commitment of 3 hours per week, completed remotely. Students or professionals who want or require additional volunteer hours may increase their commitment if they would like.

We are looking to collaborate with someone for an initial 9 week period, during which we want to aggressively optimize and boost out social media assets, gain more followers, and reach out target demographics.

Project activities:
-Proven track record of growing social media followings from scratch
-Experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, or other graphic design software
-Experience making short form videos for social media (TikToks, Reels, etc.)
-Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook
-Excellent written and verbal communication, proofreading, and editing skills
-Ability to understand our brand, and help us maintain a consistent voice as a non-partisan organization.
-Excellent research skills
-The ability to consistently offer our organization at least 3 hours of your time per week
-Passion for protecting our democracy and helping a small non-profit grow more sustainably

Scrutineers is experiencing exciting change and expansion, and a large part of that is expanding our reach. As a primarily online community, social media and online presence are of the utmost importance. As we continue to grow, we need capacity building and social media assistance to connect with people nationwide who share our passion for protecting America's elections.

Our social media manager, social media assets (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), graphic design tools, media team, and volunteer coordinator will be available to you. They will all be ready to collaborate with you and learn from your expertise.
