Finally Family Homes
Marketing for crowdfunding event
We are doing a crowdfunding event on May 15th. We'd like help figuring out the marketing for it before & during. Our event is to fundraise $40,000 to open a transitional home for foster youth who've aged out of foster care and are homeless or at high risk of homelessness. Right now this project is our top priority.
Our entire mission starts with having a transitional home. It is essential to our mission and vision.
I'm told that crowdfunding will be a staple avenue for in nonprofit fundraising. It's also applicable to entrepreneurial projects and so much more beyond the nonprofit world. We've spent the past 6 months building up our social networks (facebook, instagram, twitter, and pinterest) and are in the process of being approved for $10,000/mo ad grant from google ads.
We are a register 501c3 and have nonprofit status in California. We have set up our project on Crowdrise (owned by gofundme).
I did hire someone from fiverr to write our elevator pitch & someone to write our google ads - not sure how perfect they are.
Mostly we're looking for a build up / count down strategy and to make sure our messaging is clear and impactful.
Standing In The Gap - Finally Family Homes Offers Hope And Empowerment To Aged-out Foster Youth
Making the transition to adulthood is a struggle that is intensified for young people who have spent some or all of their childhood in foster care.
Many of them lack stable connections and are also more likely to have faced a host of disruptive and traumatic experiences including school instability, mental health issues, and homelessness.
But at Finally Family Homes, we give a sense of stability and direction to aging-out foster youth on the path to independence. We are devoted to generating relationships that will empower, inspire, and propel the youth to success.
Apart from providing basic physiological needs like food and housing, we also offer social and emotional support as well as educational guidance to aging-out foster youth.
Finally Family Homes uses a holistic approach to give foster youth the support they need to transition to a successful independent adulthood.
By extending foster care beyond age 18, we give young people a safe and supportive environment to prepare for independent living
By providing at risk teenagers a transitional home, while we help them build their own tiny home, we are providing a safety net to mitigate the risk of homelessness for former foster youth.
